"Coming upon the fifth year of LASIK surgery done by Dr. Barton, I am still in amazement at the quality of vision I have.

What a joy it has been to wake up in the morning and not have to fumble around to find my glasses; to be able to come up out of the swimming pool and see in the distance a clear horizon or the stars at night; to play with my six grandchildren and not have little hands grabbing my glasses.

I praise the Lord for His blessing in the wisdom and technology He gives to doctors to aid in our physical health each day. When I first began researching LASIK surgery, I was not a candidate for it. I was told that in six to nine months another new surgery would be perfected, and I could probably be accepted. I received a call from the office saying the new surgery was available, and I was then advised that I was now a candidate for that surgery.

Thank you Dr. Barton and Premier Eye Care Group!"

"I recently had Visian ICL implants done in each eye. I was planning on getting LASIK but after the thorough evaluation, Dr. Brent informed me that LASIK would not be the wisest choice for me and suggested the Visian ICL as an alternative. The staff was professional and actually made this an enjoyable experience.

It has truly been amazing to wake up and be able to see. I have worn glasses for 33 years. I tried contacts as a teenager, but had one eye infection after the other, so I had to give them up. I enjoy jogging and not having to wear glasses is wonderful. I have four daughters and they are so excited because this will be the first year I will be able to swim with them. I have always had to wear my glasses in the pool because I couldn't see anything around me without them. We will finally be able to swim together as a family."

"I love being outside working in the yard. I had worn monovision contact lenses for years when Dr. Barton suggested implants for me. It's the best decision that I have made concerning my eyes. Now I can enjoy life without any interruptions concerning my eyes."

"I started wearing glasses when I was 11 years old, then switched to contact lenses at age 14, after 16 years my eyes started to reject contacts. Wearing glasses again at age 30 made me feel disconnected and I could not see as well. Premier Eye Care changed all of that for me.

I used to be afraid to drive at night because I could not see the road signs. Since the ICL surgery I have the confidence to drive anywhere. I now have better that 20/20 vision and am looking forward to the many road trips I have planned for work. Thank you so much for giving me my sight back! The quality of care at Premier is unbelievable!"

"As a jewelry designer, I use some very tiny beads and components, and wearing glasses and contact lenses always presented an unusual problem for me. My eyes were aging, but I could still see well enough to work on very small, detailed pieces without wearing glasses. However, anything not immediately in front of my face, including a computer monitor was a complete blur. Wearing glasses cleared the distant vision, but I could no longer see the detail, and bifocals just didn't work for me. Wearing contact lenses and cute little reading glasses worked, but my eyes dried out and tired more quickly. When an acquaintance told me he'd had LASIK surgery, I couldn't get the idea out of my mind. So, after reading a little bit about the procedure itself, and scheduling consults with two other doctors, my search led me to Dr. Jane Barton and the Premier Eye Care Group.

After my consult with Dr. Barton, I knew I found the person to whom I would entrust my vision and, consequently, my ability to continue working with some of the tiniest pieces of glass imaginable. She answered every question I had (even the dumb ones) and made me feel confident that I made the right decision. Everyone I met throughout the entire process was a caring professional, very friendly and reassuring. When I was permitted to open my eyes after the surgery, it was amazing how clearly I could see, and after 5 ½ years, my vision is still 20/20, and I'm still beading. For this, I am so grateful to Dr. Barton and the staff at Premier Eye Care Group. Yes, I do still need my reading glasses, but some of them are just so charming, I've started a collection!"

"Freedom is priceless! Being able to see when I get up in the morning and not have to struggle to find my glasses is a wonderful feeling! Every minute counts in this busy world, no more getting up ahead of time to put my contact lenses on and struggle to get to work on time. After my LASIK surgery, I just get up in the morning, quickly get ready and out the door – no worry.

Now I can enjoy swimming, amusement park rides and running around with my kids with comfort and ease. No more worry of broken glasses, running out of contact lens solutions and torn contact lenses. All this is made possible to me by Premier Eye Care Group. Thank you!"

"After working together and going to graduate school together, when one of us decided to get LASIK, we figured, why not do this together too! Between the support at Premier and one another, this procedure was a breeze. Dr. Barton's staff members were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel comfortable from the initial seminar through the follow-ups. We would highly recommend LASIK to anyone who is tired of corrective lenses and ready to see clearly"

"One year ago, I was turning forty and my husband surprised me with the best gift he could have ever given me. He scheduled me to have LASIK, as my special present. As a wife, mother and practicing dental hygienist, my sight is extremely important to me. Having LASIK (refractive eye surgery) improved my life dramatically!

My children no longer have to wait till Mommy gets her glasses to see what they want to show me or for me to see their smiling faces clearly. I am able to get right out of bed each morning and see everything! I swam underwater, with my eyes wide open, for the first time this summer. I haven't done that since childhood. I no longer have to clear my contacts or adjust my glasses to see what I’m doing. I feel my improved vision enables me to treat my patients better. Having this surgery has allowed me to enjoy my life even more! I thank Premier Eye Care, their exceptional staff and especially Dr. Geoffrey Brent, for your professionalism and for treating me so well! I love seeing your smiles!!"

"I wanted my vision corrected ever since I had heard about it for the first time. But I finally got my nerve up 5 years ago to go to a specialist and see if I was a candidate for Lasik surgery. I was sadly disappointed when they told me that they could only correct my far vision and that I would probably need reading glasses. The reason is because I have astigmatism in both eyes. Since I had saved the money and I was happy that at least I would not have to wear glasses all my waking hours I was going to have it done. But unfortunately from the time of my consult to the time of my surgery an unexpected house repair needed done and all my money was gone. So I waited another 5 years until I could save the money once again. So in June of this year I went for another consult with a different doctor and she told me she correct both my far and near vision. I was ecstatic; I couldn't believe that I was going to have 20/20 vision without glasses. So all my waiting was worth it.

I did have to have 3 surgeries in all: First I had the flap surgery with the laser. Second I had the Refractive Lenses Surgery (RLE) which is just like cataract surgery. Then the final surgery was the astigmatism correction with the laser. All surgeries and recovery time were pain free. The only adjustment that was a little difficult was the period between the RLE and the astigmatism surgery. For that 30 day period my brain had to recognize that the correction was done. I had to wear glasses to help with my astigmatism since I had to wait until the final surgery could be completed. I had good far vision and good reading vision but the in between vision (computer) was not great. Each week it got better and by the fourth week I was ready for the final step. The following day after my surgery I could see 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other. Exactly a week later my vision is 20/20 and it seems to be getting better.

I am very happy with my decision to have the surgeries done and I would do it again!"

"I am a music therapist and I work with very young children (ages 0-3). I am thrilled that I can get very close to them and not have to worry about them touching or pulling my glasses. Also, I do a lot of driving for my job, and I love being able to just pull out my sunglasses and not having to deal with prescription sunglasses or a sun clip.

I thought Dr. Brent and his staff were very professional, yet personable at the same time. They made me comfortable throughout the whole process, from the first meeting to the follow-up visits. I especially appreciated the nurses in the preparation/recovery room on the day of the surgery. They were so kind and relaxed and made sure I was calm before the procedure."

"Even though I didn’t have any major problems wearing contact lenses for so many years, I always felt putting them in and taking them out every day was really inconvenient. After getting LASIK, I can see clearly all the time without having to fool around with cleaning solutions and lens cases. It might be hard to understand if you’ve never worn glasses or contacts, but believe me, not having to deal with them anymore is awesome! Thanks Dr. Barton and everyone at Premier Eye Care Group for doing a great job!"

"It is amazing to actually go to the beach and see my friends and family swimming in the ocean without having to reach for my glasses! I don’t have to worry about losing my contacts in the ocean or pool any more. My decision to have LASIK was one of the best things that I have ever done! I didn’t have to worry, I knew that Dr. Brent would take care of everything.

"I had no real desire to get LASIK, prior to my wife having the procedure done. I had glasses for about 20 years and figured it was just something that I had to put up with. After seeing how simple it was, and how much she loved not having the fumble around with her contact lenses everyday, I figured it was well worth the money.

Spending a great deal of our free time fishing, the advantages from LASIK have been numerous. I no longer have to worry about my glasses fogging up or the rain on my glasses preventing me from seeing when I'm fishing. Misty doesn't have to deal with her contact lenses drying out when she drives the boat. Last, but certainly not least, I cannot get over how well wrap-around sunglasses work for fishing. I had prescription polarized sunglasses for years, and there is simply no comparison as to how well I can see into the water now.

Our only regret is not getting LASIK sooner"

"My experience with having cataracts removed has been nothing less than amazing. After 38 years, I am now free of contact lenses. I am so grateful to Dr. Brent and his staff at Premier Eye Care for making this a very pleasant experience. The surgery was painless and the results, for me, were immediate. After the first cataract was removed and the ReZoom lens implanted, I could not believe the difference in my eyesight. One week later Dr. Brent removed the cataract in my other eye and placed the second lens. In the interim between surgeries, I could really see what I had been missing. Cool Whip was actually white, NOT SEPIA. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner. It is wonderful to be able to see the world as it should be seen. Thank you Dr. Brent for making a difference."

"I started wearing glasses when I was very young, then switched to contact lenses, which was even more of a hassle with solutions and cases. Since I got LASIK at Premier Eye Care Group I don't have to worry about anything. This has improved my life in so many ways, from driving with the top down without drying contacts to being able to see when I get in the ocean or the pool.

The surgery was so easy. It took seconds and was painless. The next day I woke up, looked around and was amazed I didn't need any correction. You really can't appreciate it unless you have the luxury of being able to see clearly without dealing with contacts or glasses. Thanks Dr. Barton."

"When people ask me about my LASIK surgery the first thing that I always tell them is it was the greatest gift that I could have given myself. The gift of clear eyesight, the freedom for glasses and contacts- only if you have been trapped by poor vision can you understand how amazing that is.

Trying to think of all the instances when I revel in my new clarity is almost overwhelming. There was very little of the day when I was not physically or emotionally uncomfortable in my contacts or glasses. So my enjoyment now; it is more than just camping, going to the beach or walking in the rain. LASIK has improved my overall quality of life.

I love my "new" eyes and could never thank Dr. Brent, Joan and the Premier Eye Care staff enough for such an amazing gift. Being able to see the world is truly priceless."

"When you finally decide to get LASIK performed on your eyes, you have to have someone who you feel one hundred percent comfortable with during the whole process. From the very first appointment to the final check-up following the surgery, Premier Eye Care Group checked, rechecked and made EVERY possible effort to make sure that the surgery was perfect for me. Walking outside on the first morning following the surgery, I will never forget what everything looked like. The sun was just coming up, and it was a cool crisp clear morning. I remember how I just stood there amazed how everything was so sharp and clear and colors seemed brighter.

Since that time, life after LASIK has been great. I would recommend Premier Eye Care Group and Dr. Brent to anyone who is considering this important decision and wants the very best team to perform this procedure."

"After twenty years of contacts and all the maintenance that goes with them, I decided to go ahead with the LASIK procedure. It was a great deal simpler than I imagined. Dr. Brent and his staff were thorough, professional, and friendly, which gave me added confidence to get the procedure done. My vision is now better than 20/20 and I see as well, if not better than I did with glasses or contacts. I can now play tournament level tennis without worrying about contacts giving me problems. Everyday living is better without the burden of contacts. My only regret is not having the procedure done sooner."

"It is simply amazing how much less restricted you become without the worry of your eyeglasses. I am able to more freely enjoy playing with my young and energetic children without the concern of my glasses being bumped and twisted. Also, now I don’t have to keep playing the switching game from my glasses to my prescription sunglasses and wondering where I left them the last time that I used them! The summertime is the perfect time to reap the benefits of LASIK. Dr. Barton and her staff were so pleasant and caring every step of the way, I’d recommend them to anyone – and I have!"

"The main reason that I considered LASIK surgery was due to my main hobby, umpiring. Since my surgery, my vision is very sharp and clear, which has allowed me to feel extremely confident on my calls. LASIK has allowed me to feel more comfortable with my everyday responsibilities at work and with my family."

"It's so nice walking in the rain and not having to worry about my glasses getting spotted from the raindrops.

I can remember just a few hours after my surgery, how great it was to sit on my couch and see the small numbers on my VCR from across the room. I would have never thought that could happen.

I often work with Dr. Brent and was pleased that he could do my LASIK surgery. He was very comforting and talked me through the entire procedure, explaining everything step by step. It was a great and exciting experience."

"What a joy it is to wake up in the morning and look out my kitchen window and see the birds at the birdfeeder, not just flashes of color. I don't just open my eyes, I open my eyes and see everything that use to be blurry without my glasses or contacts.

I can stand across a room of people and actually know who that person is I'm waving to.

I'm so thankful to Dr. Barton and her staff. Their care and compassion for me have shown through in the excitement of being able to see clearly."

"Baseball is my sport! I was proud to be named Franklin and Marshall College’s 2003 Most Valuable Player and leading hitter. I attribute a great deal of my success on the baseball field to the excellent results I got from having LASIK with Dr. Barton. Before LASIK, I often found myself having to clean, adjust, or even replace my contacts during the course of the game in order to clearly see the ball. Wearing glasses was even worse. After the procedure those problems disappeared, and I had no problems seeing the ball. In fact, the ball was clearer to see than it had ever been. I enjoy all sports and have found that LASIK has improved my vision everywhere from the golf course to the ski slopes.

I realize that since having Dr. Barton perform the procedure, that LASIK surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The resulting clarity in my vision has made a world of difference in my everyday activities. I no longer have to worry about falling asleep with my contacts in my eyes, or reaching for my glasses to check the time in the middle of the night. Instead, I now take a quick glance at the clock to find the time. I am extremely happy with the results from my surgery, and my thanks go to Dr. Barton for doing an excellent job with the procedure."
