Andrew L. Leitzel, O.D.

Dr. Leitzel was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania. He achieved the Dean's List multiple times while completing his Bachelors degree in biology from Bloomsburg University in the spring of 2000. In May 2004, Dr. Leitzel graduated with clinical honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and began practicing shortly thereafter with Premier Eye Care Group in Harrisburg.

Dr. Leitzel gained clinical experience from four externships located in Pennsylvania and Maryland while he was in graduate school. He provided low vision evaluations and vision rehabilitation with low vision devices during his clinical experience in Philadelphia. The William Feinbloom Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia awarded Dr. Leitzel clinical honors for his work in their center.

Dr. Leitzel provides primary optometry services including comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma disease management, and contact lens fittings and evaluations. He specializes in low vision evaluations and rehabilitation- a process that helps patients with eye diseases maximize their remaining vision with the use of optical devices such as magnifiers and other special low vision aides.
