Eyeglass Shoppes

Opticians Joyce, Tom and Brandy work in the Eyeglass Shoppe on the Third Floor of our Tuscarora St. Office
As an added convenience, there is a Premier Eyeglass Shoppe at each of our three locations. We have seven certified opticians to assist in all your eyewear needs. Our opticals shops are open Monday through Friday 8AM - 5PM and often on Saturday mornings 8AM - noon.
Eyeglasses have had many technological advances in recent years. Our opticians will help you select the best frames and lenses for your lifestyle.

Mark, one of our opticians at our Cedar Cliff office, can help your glasses fit comfortably.
When purchasing new frames patients will find many options to consider - style, weight, color, price, and product material. Frames are made from plastic or metals such as stainless steel, and titanium. Some patients are attracted to titanium because it is hypo-allergenic, non-corrosive, and lightweight. The flexon frame is a flexible metal that maintains its shape and resists breakage. At our Premier Eyeglass Shoppes we offer designer frames such as:
- Gucci
- Calvin Klein
- Dior
- Elle
- Nine West
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- DKNY
- Claiborne
- Chaps
- Seiko
- Vera Wang
Lenses

Wende and Jeremy are ready to assist you in our Eyeglass Shoppe at our North Front St. office.
Lenses are changing to adapt to different occupations and lifestyles. Our opticians are trained to teach patients about the many different options available with lenses. Lenses are made from glass, plastic, or polycarbonate. Children usually choose polycarbonate lenses because of their durability. Polycarbonate lenses are the most impact resistant lenses available. People with a higher correction often prefer the thinner, light-weight lenses called high index.
Bifocals
Bifocals are lenses made to help patients with both distant and near vision. Trifocals add a third level of vision for intermediate vision, such as computer screens. Progressive lenses are a no-line bifocal or trifocal. Many people are attracted to the appearance of the progressive lens and the continuous range of clear vision they have with these new lenses. Patients switching to progressive lenses should expect an adjustment period as they become accustomed to their new glasses.
Occupational
Occupational lenses are made for individuals who have special requirements regarding their vision at work. For example, a mechanic or an artist may need their bifocal placed at a specific location on their lenses. Computer lenses are available with anti-reflective properties. The anti-reflection lenses also help with glare from TV screens or night driving. Athletes may be interested in sport eyeglasses to assist and protect their active lifestyle. Our opticians welcome your questions regarding new advances in lenses.
Sunglasses

Jana at our Cedar Cliff office will help you find the perfect eyeglass or sunglass style.
Research has proven that long periods of time in the sun increase the risk of developing eye disease. Ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians all recommend that sunglasses be worn to reduce the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Sunglasses are available at Premier Eyeglass Shoppes for patients with or without a prescription.
Consumers should be aware of the many choices available when purchasing sunglasses. Transition lenses have a tint that allows people to wear their glasses inside as well as outside in the sun. These lenses adjust to a darker tint when moved towards the brighter light. Polarized lenses reduce reflective glare, and always filter UV rays. A gradient lens has a darker tint at the top and gradually decreases the tint towards the bottom of the lens. This gives greater protection from the sun, yet does not hinder an individual's normal visual field.
Other options for sunglasses include the color of the tint, wraparound fit, and mirror-coatings. Our opticians can help you choose the right sunglasses for you if you explain what activities you will be doing when you are wearing your sunglasses.
