Dry Eye
Did you know that excessive tearing in your eyes can actually be a condition called Dry Eye? Other symptoms of dry eye include scratchy eyes, blurry vision after periods of reading or working on the computer, or red, irritated eyes that produce a mucus discharge, but your eye doctor tells you that you don't have an infection. Dry eye is more common as we grow older and it is more frequently diagnosed in women than men.
At Premier EyeCare Group our doctors believe you don't need to live with dry eye and they will offer several treatment suggestions. Artifical tears and gels are the most common method of treating dry eye. You can find a variety of artificial tears over the counter. More serious dry eye patients may need to have antibiotics or other medications prescribed. Our doctors have different types of punctual plugs for patients who continue to struggle with dry eye. Dr. Andrew Leitzel, Dr. Glen Elliott and Dr. John O'Donnell are happy to work with patients over several appointments to examine the rate of tear production and what treatments works best for each patient. We hope one of our doctors will be your dry eye specialist.
